NEASC Accreditations

Dear HHS families,

The New England Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges (NEASC) accredits Hartford High School.  The process of ensuring accreditation is lengthy and includes a significant self-study when we review every element of our school in light of NEASC’s five standard areas:

Standard 1:  Learning Culture
Standard 2:  Student Learning
Standard 3:  Professional Practices
Standard 4:  Learning Supports
Standard 5:  Learning Resources

While our decennial accreditation visit is not due until the fall of 2022, we have begun the process this fall.  Every member of our faculty is participating on a Self-Reflection Committee organized by the above standards.  In addition to these committees, some of our staff are participating as members of the school’s Steering Committee and two staff, Ms. Angela Conrad-Schlager and Ms. Sarah Wellman, are leading as Co-coordinators of our self-study.  In the next few weeks we will be distributing a survey designed by NEASC to our staff, students, and families.  Please take a moment when the survey arrives to complete it.  The information that we will learn from these surveys will be key pieces of evidence as we develop our reports.  The survey will be sent via email and will not take long to complete.  Thank you in advance for your participation in this important survey.

I want to share with you a short video that further explains the role that this process can play in our school.

Have a great day.
